Listening to God

At some point, listening is one of the virtues that human can’t live up.  If we’re a good listener, no distractions could ever confuse our minds.  If we’re responsive listener, we make an effort to heed God’s word which is formulated for everyone’s prosperity, stability and tranquility.

For example, when God says, “Thou shall not kill”, it is said without specifics knowing that human intellectualizes everything when seeing loop-holes to justify selfish choice.

Just recently, I’ve read an article from Yahoo News about a woman who was forced by the China authorities to abort a 7-month old conception in compliance to the government’s two-child policy.

Not only that, in a separate article which I tried to confirm based on commentaries, I’ve learned about a disclosure on a hospital which sells fetus for 10 dollars which the buyers make into soup.

These two inhumane acts have been rooted from this 2-child policy and abortion.  Of course, the lawmakers would claim that it’s more humane than to see the country to be exceeding its carrying capacity which may result to a chaotic community brought by food shortage because of earth’s resources which is finite (as fears of the highly developed countries).

The mere fact that God doesn’t allow killing is an indication that He has already created a perfect formula to accommodate continuous population growth.  The problem with us both the law enforcers and the people intervene on aspects that are not already our business but of God’s.

The implication of which is that “listening” to the Word of God entails humility without questioning why it’s so but believing that His word can be perfectly relied upon throughout the earth’s existence rather than measuring its integrity by exploring comfort zones which end result is discomfort.  Remember, when Adam and Eve measured God’s word by trying the forbidden thing than “listening” to keep away from it, we missed a lot of God’s original plan for humanity.  Definitely there was an immeasurable plan set for a perfect life which has been remained a puzzle because of our negligence to listen to God’s warning voice.

Proverbs 12:15The way of the fool seems right in his own eyes, but he who listens to advice is wise.

Proverbs 17:4 The evil man gives heed to wicked lips, and listens to falsehood from a mischievous tongue.

Jeremiah 5:21 Pay attention to this, foolish and senseless people Who have eyes and see not, who have ears and hear not. Should you not fear me, says the LORD, should you not tremble before me? I made the sandy shore the sea's limit, which by eternal decree it may not overstep. Toss though it may, it is to no avail; though its billows roar, they cannot pass.

Matthew 7:26-27 And everyone who listens to these words of mine but does not act on them will be like a fool who built his house on sand. The rain fell, the floods came, and the winds blew and buffeted the house. And it collapsed and was completely ruined."
